In my words

Eighth grade, the last year at Cabin John.

The world that year

The Capitals win the Cup, the Red Sox win 108, and Ninja plays Fortnite with Drake.

The Capitals won the Stanley Cup on June 7, the first in franchise history, and Ovechkin skated with it for a week. The Red Sox won 108 games and the World Series under Alex Cora, Tiger won again at East Lake after five years and four back surgeries, and the Eagles beat the Patriots on the Philly Special. Ninja and Drake played Fortnite for 635,000 people in March, and the game became the thing everyone did.

Winter

The birthday month. Snow on the street, warm windows, the year still new.

Dark mode arrives (macOS Mojave). Gradients, glass, and neon accents; gaming's RGB aesthetic goes mainstream. Every app copies Stories.
